Does turning off darkfeature notification.batch in confluence 6,2 do anything?

william March 20, 2018

I am still looking at ways to kill batching notifications emails and I came across the dark feature notification.batch..  There is at least some source in the notifications batch plugin that fail out if this value is et to false. I tried setting -Dnotification.batch=false in the setenv.sh script but it did not seem to do anything and notification.batch still shows up in the /admin/darkfeatures.action. SO am I really turning off anything or is this obsolete?

Hi william,

Currently for a dark feature for batch notification that is under the dark feature page is not able to be disabled.

However, there is a workaround to disable the batch notification.

  1. Go to Cog >> add-ons
  2. Look for the plugin "Confluence Email Notifications Plugin"
  3. expend the modules enabled session
  4. Disable the modules that you wish to unsubscribe

Hope that answer your inquiry.

The fun thing about the current miserable state of confluence notifications is some stuff still goes through the old core functionality. If you disable the email notifications plugin, and delete a blog post on a watched page, you get pages of stack trace in the logs because the core is looking for a soy file in the plugin you deleted. Joy.
