I have a table in an Expert that is presented in another page (insert Excerpt)- works fine can edit etc and it shows up,
I try and cut and past form one cell to another in the table and it drops the paste below the table in another segment. It looks like you cant cut and paste from a cell to another cell while in an expert.
Please tell me I am doing something wrong or is this a feature of confluence
@Dave Symonds Are you selecting the table cell—not just the text in the cell you are cutting from or just placing your cursor in the cell you are pasting to? Confluence could be trying to paste a new cell.
I also find that sometimes it works better to copy and paste, then go back and delete the text from the original cell.
Note that, if you are doing this to change the order of rows or columns in the table, you can now drag and drop to reorder the table (see https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Confluence-tables-get-drag-and-drop/ba-p/2602534).
Thanks
I highlight the text only in the cell in the table, copy and try and paste it to the table cell under that one and it drops it below the table in a new single cell

@Dave Symonds I found this related question (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/copy-paste-does-not-work-any-more-in-a-table/qaq-p/2518101 ), so it seems you are not the first to experience this.
You might try searching the Confluence Cloud Jira to see if a defect has been created or contact Atlassian Support to see if they have a resolution or can create a defect for you.

I like your high expectations on Atlassian fixing bugs - I have contributed to some that go back several years. :)
