I am moving pages from one space to another in our Confluence. Some pages throw this error:
Content with this title already exists
I am sure that not but OK.
What can be wrong when moving?
Check the Archive and Trash in the target space (the one that you're copying pages into).
You can also try an app called Copy Page Tree by Appfire. A) it copies a whole chunk of pages as a single unit, so the links between the pages are preserved) B) it allows you to add a prefix/suffix to the pages that are being copied, thus making sure you get the pages to the target space. You can address naming issues later.
Hi @Svetlana Bushueva , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
I know the error message you are seeing is about page titles but I wonder from how you described the problem if maybe permissions are also an issue here.
So you need delete permission in the Space you are moving from, as well as create in the Space you are moving to. This isn't always obvious to people as you think of moving as preserving the content, but of course it is technically being removed / deleted from the original Space so please check this. Also, the fact you are able to create the pages in the destination Space without this issue makes me suspicious about the permissions.
I also checked the knowledge base for this issue - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/unable-to-move-confluence-page-within-the-same-space-because-of-deleted-page-648546039.html
But, I think also here, if the problem was pages in the trash with the same name, you couldn't create them (as opposed to moving them).
Anyway, let me know if you are still facing this issue and either I or someone else will try to help.
Cheers
