Confluence Service Name

Colin Jones January 3, 2012

Hi there. When Confluence auto installed it created a service named Confluence031211164755 instead of Confluence. Can you tell me how to rename and still keep the service working? Thanks in advance.

Renaming via windows registry seems to be the easiest solution:

Have a look at

http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/windows-service-howto.html

and

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Start+Confluence+Automatically+on+Windows+as+a+Service

you have to remove the service and to recreate it. Please note your Service configuration before removing it, in case you need additional parameters in the newly created service.

Your original Service Name Confluence031211164755 indicates that you have installed it on 2011-12-03 (031211) at the time 16:47:55. I think this name is chosen to make the service name unique.
