Confluence 5.10.4 LDAP syncing: Deactivation Users?

Greg Della-Croce May 24, 2017

We are run version 5.10.4.  I am looking for the documentation that will tell me that if a User is deleted/removed from the LDAP that is used to sync the Users will the Confluence deactivate the User if they have content and/or delete them if the User does not have content in Confluence.

I looked through the documentation on 5.10 and could not find this situation referred too.

If you delete the user in LDAP it will be deleted in Confluence as well. Any content will be attributed to "unknown user" like:

"Created by Unknown User (ernie) a minute ago"

I just tested in Confluence 5.10.4 with AD.

Ah, that answered two questions at once, thanks, Ann.   It tells me that Confluence does not check if a user has content before zapping it.

And it tells me where those "Created by Unknown User" come from!  A mystery I have been meaning to look into for awhile.

Thank you very much
