Code Snippet: Display problems

Hi all

I'm experiencing the following behaviour of confluence cloud when using the code snippet macro:

When I edit a line of code, it looks like this:

That's OK, looks good.

However, in read mode this one line looks like this:

The scroll bar for the completely visible line runs over the complete page.

This is not OK, and it doesn't look good by any standards.

Anybody else having this experience?

Unfortunately this is a known bug, for which a bug ticket is raised in Atlassian. You can vote for and watch it here.

While the ticket you link above does show the same behaviour of the code snippet, it seems erroneously to assume that this problem only exists when you embed the code snippet page into another page using insert page.

I can confirm that code snippet does that all by itself...

Seems to me that Atlassian succeeds in reducing functionality and also manages to break what's left of the original functionality of the code block macro.

Why?

Who benefits from this?
