Changing page titles isn't possible right now, as collaborative editing is offline Workaround?

We upgraded our production server from 6.x.x to 7.x.x and now it seems for some reason it is having issues with collab editing and the synchrony.

Still tying to work it out as we were not seeing this issue on our test environment. 

Until then people still need to edit pages. 

How can we force changes to the page title without Collaborative editing enabled.

Changing the page title should still work regardless of collaborative editing be turned on or not.  If a user changes the page title it will update as long as the page title does not already exist in the space.
