Can't Select Correct Parent Page for Children Display Macro

Hi there,

I am trying to insert the macro "Children Display" and when I search for a particular page, it comes up with options but not the page I am looking for. It lists other spaces, it lists pages with the name included in its title, but I can't seem to get it to display the page I want as an option. I tried inserting the direct link, but that doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Hi Cate (and other people who might stumble across this issue),

I had the same issue with multiple pages on multiple spaces. In my case, following the steps below 'fixed' the issue:

  • Go to the page you want to include in the Children display
  • Temporary rename that page
  • Go to the children display, delete it and add it again
  • The page now suddenly popped up in the 'Parent page' search box of the children display
  • Change the renamed page back to the original name

Hope this helps you as well!

Regards,

Mike

Hi Cate,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

That should work searching for a page in the Children Display macro as long the page is not restricted and you're able to see it.

By any chance, the page you are searching, have only one letter in the title (for example, it is called A), punctuation marks or any other special characters on it?

In case the page is not restricted and none of those applies, please let me know! We may need to check further on it.

Hope to hear from you soon! :)

Hi there, thanks for that. No strange punctuation. It only shows many pages that have the same word somewhere in their title, but not the one I want. It only happens when the page has a more generic title (ie a page called "Product" returns results for a lot of pages as many have the word product in its title) I can't seem to scroll or click a "view all" to then see all the options and select the one I want. The only workaround I have is to change the page title to something more unique (like put my name in it) so that I can search for the new title, set up the macro, and then update the page title to what I want it to be.

Hey Cate,

Thank you for letting me know.
We may need to look further on that, so I have created the following Support ticket for you: JST-675902

We may need approval from your Site-Admin there to access the site to investigate further and some additional information, which you can share on the ticket. :)

Cheers,
Jessica

I also have the same problem while there are many pages with the same name. Search with the space prefix is also not working
