Automatically expand "more child pages"

Andrew Clarke January 9, 2019

We recently upgraded to Confluence 6.12.2 from some really old version.  Now instead of all child pages being expanded by default, it shows just the first four, then has an "x more child pages" link I have to click to expand the rest of the children.

This adds an extra click and a waste of time every time I want to get to a page.  Is there a way to expand those lists automatically?

Thanks!

Hello there Andrew!

You can reach a similar result by doing this:

  1. Go to Space Tools
  2. Select Look and Feel
  3. Click the Sidebar, header and footer
  4. Insert the following into Sidebar textfield:

          {pagetree:startDepth=1000|expandCollapseAll=true}

      5. Save

This should show all child pages in your Page Tree. The startDepth value of 1000 sets that at least 1000 levels will be shown at all times by default.

Thank you for your response.  I only have "Overview", "Content tools", and "Reorder pages" in that menu.  I guess I need to contact the admin about this, but if so it does exactly what I want.  Thanks again!
