Does Confluence support the same anonymization of usernames that JIRA does?
How is Crowd involved if a JIRA user is anonymized and both JIRA and Confluence are in the same Crowd directory?
In our setup JIRA is connected to an external user directory, and Confluence is using JIRA as its user directory. I had an issue with a disabled user in the external directory, which didn't have a valid email address which could not be fixed anymore in the external directory, and that stopped my cloud migration. I then anonymized the user in JIRA, and then in Confluence it became a @jira.invalid user. Perhaps this helps you.
