Advice regarding Pictures and attachment in bugs exported in Word format

Vishal December 18, 2018

We need to share bugs with an external part. How do we best do that?I

I guess that one possibility would be to export the bugs to another format (Word) and send it to the external part. But it appears that I don't pictures and attachments included in the exported bug. Do you have any suggestions how to circumvent this?

Hi Vishal,

Generally we would recommend that you make the projects public so your external customers can see the bugs. This is what we do on jira.atlassian.com. External users can see the bug, but they're not able to vote or comment unless they're logged in.

My recommendation would be to NOT allow anonymous users to create issues, but to only view the issues. This is the "Browse Project" permission.

Another thing to be aware of, when you allow anonymous access to projects in Jira, Google then has the permission to index your site publicly. If you want to avoid this, you will want to consider using robots.txt to control how search engines can index your site.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Regards,

Shannon
