Add watchers to template?

We have a simple use case of a change log. Top level page has a create from template button and page properties report.

Simple idea is to create a new change from template. It is listed and shown in the table from the page properties report. 

But we want the changes to notify specific people. I can sse that there is no way to add watcher to a template. 

Is it possible to add watchers with a user macro? Not sure if there is an api available through use macro that can do this?

Hi Timothy,

I can't answer your question directly, but with our Page Tree Creator (PTC) the PTC Blueprints are based on normal Confluence pages and therefore the watch on a template is a piece of cake.
