If I create a text box on a Whiteboard containing certain Unicode characters (e.g. ❶), they are only rendered correctly during editing.  When I focus another control, they are replaced with a symbol like 🔲.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The most common cause of this is your machine not having the standard font families that Atlassian and others use in their code,  Use the developer's tools in the browser to see what Confluence is asking of your browser.

@Duncan Bayne thanks for the feedback. Our text rendering engine doesn't support all emojis at the moment. We have this as a ticket in our backlog to work on in the future.
