Well - I am cautiously optimistic on linking to attachments coming back. I commented here, in JIRA, asked a community question on using external file stores as a replacement, and posted a review on Facebook about why it’s critical for my team. My Facebook review got a response asking for more detail - which I gave. I just got another response telling me linking to attachments has been updated to Short Term Backlog on the roadmap. I checked and the roadmap is updated. The JIRA item is now Future Consideration. Fingers crossed.
@Michael Corvin I know G2 is quite popular in some circles - my company cares heavily about their reputation on that. I wonder whether we'd have more traction there? It appears that our feedback isn't getting outside the Confluence Cloud Product team, but I suspect we'd reach a different audience on a third party review website like G2, or another one if anyone knows of a place they'd be more likely to care about?
Hi @Jessica Taylor, can we take your liking @Jeannine Hooper-Yan's comment as a cryptic indication that the feature she mentioned is coming back? Or were you just liking her optimism?
@Tom Crowley@Jeannine Hooper-Yan Further to Tom's comment, I interpreted Jessica's LIKE as a nod and a wink to the functionality making a return in the near future. As a result, I liked it, too.
The thing is, and maybe this is down to my lack of understanding, "Future consideration" sounds like they might look at it at some point in the future if they ever run out of bugs to fix or features to add, while "Short-term backlog" sounds like we could expect it in the next six months or so.
Maybe they need a macro that mirrors the status of a Jira ticket in a Confluence page...
