Hello,
For confluence-users, can I disable them from creating/editing knowledgebases? I want to be able to control who can create and edit articles from a user perspective.

Absolutely - you can set permissions at the Space level, which will allow you to define which users/groups are allowed to perform certain functions. You'd want to grant access using the "Add" permission, which governs whether a user can create or edit a page in the space.
