Hello community members!

I’m Nidhi, Sr. Product Manager on the Confluence Cloud team. Over the years, Confluence has customized and adapted how new users get started in the product. But we know there is room to grow!

Help shape how new users onboard into Confluence

For sure there are already feature requests:
for better Onboarding it would be good to have

  • a more customized welcome message for new users to the atlassian platform in general,
    • to be stored as a template and
  • with a dedicated space as "landingpage",
    • potentially configurable by user groups (different landing pages per group). 

And please: do not sell everthing as "premium" - it's annoying enough have to licence the plugins also to those who do not need it!  (If this would not be the case, I'd not have to block all thre requests.)

one exisiting feature request that would could be beneficial to onboard new users into Confluence, but also would help in general to guide users better is the following request:
[CONFCLOUD-45607] Ability to set a default template when user click the "Create" button - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

It would be nice to have a bit more possibilities when creating a new page to guide or even enforce a template per space and perhaps even for subpages of a specific parent page.
This would make it much easier for people that are new to Confluence to get started and create content quicker, because there is already an enforced or suggested template that they can use depending in which department (which usually have their own space) they are working for. 
Like that they can just fill in content instead of creating the entire structure of a page first, which can be intimating for new users.
Lastly, this would also give administrator the power to enforce a similar structure that shall be used company wide. Like a RACI header for example that must be used for all IT related pages.
