How to connect Compass to GitHub when IP whitelist protection is enabled?

dddrop March 2, 2025

Compass can’t detect our repos. Could it be blocked by an IP whitelist?

Hi @呉 也魯 welcome to the Community,

That is a possibility. Are you using Github.com or Github Enterprise?

There is a previous thread about IP Whitelisting which might help you solve your issue: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Compass-questions/problems-with-Github-integration-to-Compass/qaq-p/2256075

Let us know if you are still unable to connect Github,

Tyler

We are using  Github Enterprise Cloud.

@呉 也魯 were you able to get it connected at all or was it that it was connected but not detecting repositories? If you are still having an issue, what types of errors are you seeing?

dddrop March 4, 2025

There are no errors, but the repositories are not syncing as components.

Have you followed the documentation here to get started? https://support.atlassian.com/compass/docs/integrate-compass-with-github/

At what point are you in the setup process?

dddrop March 4, 2025

Yes, I followed it and also add IPs to IP allow list.
