✅ OVO Energy shares how to achieve world-class developer experience
🚀 Boden chooses Compass to cut through complexity
As the year wraps up, have you been keeping track of whether your components are naughty or nice? Are your services sneaking bugs into production or causing deployment chaos when you weren't looking? Don't worry, we're not here to judge – we're here to help you catch troublesome components before they become a problem.
Product Engineering can feel like magic, but really, it’s all about rituals and processes. On December 18/19th, Raghu Venkatesh, senior Engineering Manager for Compass, will share how his team brings Product Engineering to life using Jira Product Discovery and turns customer problems into features they love. Register here.
We’re recapping our biggest features and developments from the year, from Compass components in Jira to our latest Compass Premium offering. We’re grateful to all of you for joining us on our mission to create a better developer experience and look forward to shipping more features in partnership with you.
In February, we released the native Compass integration with Jira Software, which brings the Compass components and the Component tab to Jira users. This unified experience within the Atlassian ecosystem teams can link their issues to software components and get insights without switching tabs:
Tracking work against health metrics and understand work impact
Measure and reduce technical debt
Identify bottlenecks and improve your developer experience
If you’re already using the Jira Software components field, you can import your legacy data into Compass. Click here to learn how. You can also migrate Jira component data to a different custom field in Jira. Click here for the script. Ready to get started? Log in today to connect your Jira issues and learn how to use the Compass component field in Jira.
We’re rolling out operations features in Compass. Consolidate monitoring, on-call management, and alert response in Compass where you already track and collaborate on software components. That means no more “hide-and-seek” with critical information across tools, teams, and services immediately available when you receive an alert in the middle of the night:
Reduce spend: Alerts and on-call are included in the Compass Standard plan so you don’t need to purchase an additional product for these features
Make alert investigation easier: Find the info you need faster and see all recent changes and events in the activity feed
These features are now available to the majority of Compass sites and we plan to announce full General Availability (GA) to all Compass customers in the coming months. Learn more here.
Elevate your engineering teams with our new Compass Premium offering. Scale your software catalog effortlessly with granular permissions, customize your internal developer platform with more templates, scorecards, and metrics, and enjoy extended data retention to track long-term initiatives. Plus, with 24/7 premium support and a 99.9% uptime SLA, you'll have peace of mind that your entire organization has access to Compass data at all times.
Ready to take your developer experience to the next level? Try Compass Premium today!
The new Compass card in Bitbucket shows key details about the software components you have complete context without switching tabs. Quickly learn who owns a repo and info like runbooks and dependencies so you get work done faster, right where you already build and ship code in Bitbucket.
Haven’t linked your SCM yet? Linking your SCM to Compass is the fastest way to get up and running with ownership and dependency tracking, building expressive scorecards that improve your software’s health, and much more. Connect your SCM today and get Compass cards in Bitbucket.
Change your theme to view your catalog, scorecards, and components in dark mode. Compass users can transform their UI into a low-light, sleek environment, reducing eye strain during long work sessions. Flip the switch – your eyes will thank you. Log into Compass to check it out.
