This month we’re bringing you the attention board in Compass to help teams respond to insights faster. 👀 Attention board brings developer experience to the forefront

Surface potential software issues and drive to solutions faster with the new attention board on the home page. The attention board highlights potential problems so teams can act quickly with context and clarity, and empowers teams to understand and improve performance and compliance trends.

✅ Take action: shift attention board items from red to green

The attention board has been built to connect the main problem areas your teams are experiencing and provide easy remediation steps to get your teams to healthy. We’ve observed this challenge inside Atlassian and in our customer base - “What can I do to go faster?” - and wanted to provide a place where can help teams focus on what matters most. We want Compass to make your teams healthy by avoiding unnecessary distractions, and focusing on what can improve team health.

👩‍⚖️ Implement and scale your policies and standards

We’re starting off with showing only default scorecards on the attention board, and will be looking to expand it to your custom scorecards in the near future, as well as providing an API for you to distribute your own attention board items to your teams.

The attention board is part of our efforts to bring developer experience front and center in Compass. At Team '24 we’ll unveil the new developer experience dashboard to help teams better track their software delivery and increase their productivity. ✨ Catalog everything faster with automatic import for GitHub

The GitHub app for Compass now automatically detects when repositories are created in any connected GitHub organization and creates components in Compass for them. That means teams have a complete software catalog that is always accurate and up-to-date anytime repositories are added to GitHub. Here’s how to enable it at your organization:

1. ⚙️ Install or upgrade the GitHub app in Compass

2. 👉 Go to the app UI in Compass and select Configure GitHub

3. ✅ Toggle on the Automatic Import option for each desired GitHub organization

Wait - I use Bitbucket!

We plan to bring auto-import functionality to Bitbucket soon, as well as introduce a way to bulk import all repositories from a Bitbucket workspace or GitHub organization into Compass in one shot to build a Compass catalog faster. Stay tuned!

⚙️ Coming soon - Compass card in Bitbucket

Find info faster, write where you build, commit, and ship code in Bitbucket. We’ll soon Be releasing the Compass card which shows you key details about the software components you work on without having to switch tabs. Linking your SCM to Compass is the fastest way to get up and running with ownership and dependency tracking, building expressive scorecards that improve your software’s health, and much more.

🔁 Import existing Jira Software components into Compass

If you haven’t heard the news, Compass components are now available natively in Jira Software company-managed projects. The new field lets all Jira users benefit from software components linked to issues. If you’re already using the Jira Software components field, you can import your legacy data into Compass.
