Hi CUG members!
This week, we're tackling the question:
“What is the ideal platform to host our internal Company User Group?”
The Atlassian Community has created templates and best practices for establishing your CUG on any platform (download them here). While we have "how-to" documentation for creating your group in both Confluence and Slack, we highly recommend using Confluence to help your users become more familiar with the product.
Here are some insights on why Confluence might be the ideal choice for your CUG:
Collaborative Space - Easily create, share, and edit content together, fostering community and participation.
Organized Documentation - Store important documents, meeting notes, resources, and training/certification guides for quick and convenient reference.
Customizable Templates - Use templates for meeting agendas, project plans, and feedback forms to simplify engagement.
Seamless Integration - Connect with other Atlassian tools like Jira and Trello to link work directly to CUG activities.
Familiarity with the Tool - Hosting in Confluence helps members enhance their skills and productivity.
Event Planning and Feedback - Create polls and surveys to gather insights and plan future activities.
If you’re looking to include more of a chat experience, consider integrating a platform like Slack. By creating discussion channels, you can further engage your users, allowing for real-time discussions and brainstorming. This combination can create a well-rounded experience for your members.
We’d love to hear your thoughts! What platforms have you considered for your CUG? Share your experiences with any platform you’ve used in the comments below!
Remember, you can submit your questions for future Weekly Wonder posts here or by replying to any of the previous Weekly Wonder posts.
