I recommend following these guys, they are a volunteer research station on an island of Belize along the Mesoamerican Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world.

They do incredible work to educate, to clean, to remove invasive lion fish, to remove and repurpose plastic and they do it with very little support

Being in a country with a coastline with the Indian Ocean, Kenya and the second largest continent with two oceans touching Africa (Indian and Atlantic Ocean) it is imperative to seek out and support initiatives on the continent aimed at protecting oceans. 

It's amazing to highlight what NEMA, MBRC Ocean is doing in Tanzania and the Mohammed VI Foundation in Morocco.
