client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe. Could not push the commits.

I have recently updated the Rails app and have updated the gems as well. We always pushed the cached gems as well. Before also I have done rails upgrade with gems update and it was working. Now, I am not able to push and got the error:

Enumerating objects: 194, done.
Counting objects: 100% (194/194), done.
Delta compression using up to 16 threads
Compressing objects: 100% (131/131), done.
client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe
send-pack: unexpected disconnect while reading sideband packet
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly

All code changes, I can push but not the updated gems.

I tried to push one gem at a time also but it is not working.

Did we hit the repository size limit? We are on the free plan. In the repository, the size is displayed as 267.62MB.

From the symptoms you have described, this seems to be a local network issue, as your repository is far from the 4GB size limit. That being said, I would like to clarify a few questions to better understand the issue : 

• What is the total size of the files you are trying to push? 
• Is it happening in a particular network? Could you try using a different network(cellular network, for example)  and verify if the same issue happens? 
• Does it happen only for your user, or other users are also affected by this?
• What is the protocol you are using, HTTPS or SSH? Could you try to switch the protocol and check if the issue persists?
