Hi Dan and welcome to the community!

I would like to ask for some additional info so we can better help you:

  • Are you using Bitbucket Cloud or Bitbucket Server/Data Center? I see no Bitbucket Cloud account in our system associated with your email.
  • I assume you are trying to add Bitbucket from your organization page in https://admin.atlassian.com/, is that correct?
  • If so, could you please provide the exact steps you follow after selecting your organization (what menus and options you select), until you get this error page?

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hiya Theodora...

Yes I was trying to add it to the org page.

  1. Log in as the org admin
  2. Click on products.
  3. Click on org.   It takes me to a 'Discover new products' page.
  4. Find bitbucket at the bottom and select 'Try it now'

Then I receive the error shown above...

Thanks for any help you can provide...

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the info.

Bitbucket cannot be added from that page to an organization, as the billing and management for the product are handled separately in https://bitbucket.org/ instead.

You can create a new Bitbucket Cloud account and workspace via https://bitbucket.org/ (select the Get it free link). However, you will not be able to add it to your organization's products or manage the billing from the organisation's billing. If you create a Bitbucket Cloud workspace, you will be able to manage its settings from https://bitbucket.org/workspace-id/workspace/settings, where workspace-id is the id you select for your workspace.

Please feel free to let me know how this goes and if you need further assistance.

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi @Theodora Boudale ,

Are you saying that we cannot have Bitbucket Cloud in the same organization as our other Jira, Confluence etc. products?

I am stuck with the same issue. We have for example Atlassian Access that we would like to utilize within that same organization as well, so we really need Bitbucket Cloud in the same organization and not a separate one.

Please assist with how I can add a Bitbucket Cloud instance to my current side instead of a separate one.

Best Regards,

Cornelia

Hi Cornelia,

[Edit: Some of the info I posted in this reply was incorrect, apologies for that. I edited my reply to reflect the correct info]

If you don't have a Bitbucket Cloud workspace yet, you can check the info in the following article:

The section How to create your Bitbucket workspace in Atlassian Admin in this article includes the steps you can follow to create a Bitbucket workspace within your organization.

If you have an existing Bitbucket Cloud workspace that is not linked to any organization, you can link it to your organization if you have Atlassian Access. You can find steps in the following documentation, section Link Bitbucket to your organization

This will allow you to view Bitbucket Cloud Audit Logs in the organization's Audit Logs. The workspace will also be listed in your organization's product list. However, unified user management will not be available for this workspace. This functionality will be released in 2025 for existing, older, workspaces. This is a longer timeframe because it requires migrating existing user history and permissions over to Atlassian Admin.

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi Theodora,

The guide is not accurate for us since Bitbucket Cloud is not an option in the list in admin.atlassian.com -> Add Product. I have created a support ticket for this.

I also do not have an existing Bitbucket Cloud workspace.

We want a new Bitbucket Cloud instance to be created in the existing organization so we can utilize our Atlassian Guard subscription along with it.

Best Regards,

Cornelia

Hi Cornelia,

You can also try creating the workspace via this link:

That page gives you the option to select the organization that the new Bitbucket Cloud workspace will be linked to.

If you're still experiencing issues, please reach out via the support ticket you have created.

Kind regards,
Theodora
