Is anyone else having issues upgrading from 5.7.0 to 5.8.0?

Tyler February 22, 2018

I have tried twice to upgrade my Bitbucket Server instance from 5.7.0 to 5.8.0. Each time the upgrade completes I am no longer able to access the instance after the first time I restart the webservice.  I am running Bitbucket on a CentOS 7 Linux box. Any suggestions are welcome. When I try to log in and restart Bitbucket I get an error

"Stopping Atlassian Bitbucket as dedicated user atlbitbucket
No process was found for PID 2301, or the current user cannot signal it"

Hey Tyler,

Haven't done the upgrade myself (yet), but wanted to ask if you're starting via the script in the application bin dir, or from a service script?

The string "No PID Found" doesn't seem to appear in the 5.8.0 bin dir so the latest version may not work with your service script. If you are using a service script, suggest you try the startup script that ships with the app.

Hi Craig,

We have been starting via the start-bitbucket.sh in the bin folder.  I'm trying to go back through my logs and get the exact error message that was appearing in the console.
