How to detect who/what triggered pipeline

Pawel_Troc March 29, 2019

Hi,

I would like to use new feature after-script: to send out notification email but only when pipeline was not triggered by user (because you know - in that case user will recive notification). So im fixing https://bitbucket.org/site/master/issues/15608/email-notification-for-failed-scheduled

Is there a way to know who / what triggered pipeline execution ?

Hi Pawel,

At this stage there is no information provided in Pipelines that indicates the user that triggered the pipeline.

We have an open feature request to add this an environment variable: https://bitbucket.org/site/master/issues/14006/environment-variable-for-user-who

For the time being, you could perhaps look at the author of the most recent commit to determine a user to send a notification to.

Thanks,

Phil
