How to configure LDAP for user access in bitbucket

Jeromnimo February 15, 2018

Hi,

I am currently struggling with an issue when trying ton configure my bitbucket (server) to integrate with my company's Active Directory.

Connexion with AD is OK, groups are well retrieved, but impossible to get users :(

I assume it's a misconfiguration in user settings, but do you have any advice on how to check values entered here against my AD ?

Any help / guideline would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Jérôme,

Which user filters are you using at the moment?

We have a page describing how to create such filters (How to write LDAP search filters).

Another option could be to remove the user directory and create a new one (pointing to the same AD), this will reset the settings to the defaults and may help in understanding what is not working. The defaults do not apply any filtering and should help to make sure that the basic set up is fine prior to add more specific filters.

The Connecting Bitbucket Server to an existing LDAP directory may also help!

Thanks,

Hi Caterina,

thanks for your answer.

In the meantime, I have figured out the issue : my read only user I used was not allowed to access password field in my AD.

I have changed to delegated LDAP connector and now things are working well :-)
