Can I use putty to connect to Stash?

Brian Mills August 30, 2012

I'm trying to use Putty and Git Extensions to push and pull over ssh (so, using git over ssh to stash) so I can use putty's pagent to cache credentials, which seems much more secure than some of the other susggestions in the Stash help. I've used this setup previosly with Github (public and private FI/enterprise) and Gitolite.

The problem I find is that every time I try to connect, Stash does not accept my key, so it reverts to password authentication, which doesn't work.

Am I able to use putty authentication with Stash?

It apears as though you cant.

If you want this feature, vote for it on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STASH-2698

So far it seems you can't use Putty to connect to stash. Vote for the feature if you would like it too.
