I am getting some external help in my super secret project and would like to share as little as possible of my source code. He only needs one branch and I would like to restrict his read ability for the rest of the repository.

Is it possible to do this?

And If I would create a new repository instead with only the branch he needs, could I ever merge his changes back to my project or update his working branch with my changes?

Hi Felix,

This is not achievable as the minimum requirement for a user to be able to make changes to the branch in a repository, the user must have WRITE permission to the repository itself.

Regards,

Baskar.
