Hello,
We have certain feature branches for which we need to restrict branch deletion or prevent rewriting history. But we noticed that it does not work for any branches other than develop or master. We are running bitbucket versoin 4.5.2.
Is this a known issue or are we missing something that we cannot restrict branch deletion even though the settings on that branch have that prevention enabled.
Thanks,
Pranothi
It should work on any branch. How are you adding the restrictions? Using the exact branch name? Or a pattern?
See https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/using-branch-permissions-776639807.html#Usingbranchpermissions-Addingbranchpermissions for more details.
Thanks for getting back. So apparently it does work.
It still gives the option to delete which was weird. But when we click on the delete option, it comes back with a pop-up saying "Branch feature/blah-blah" cannot be deleted. It is protected by branch permissions.
So I guess seeing the option to delete created the concern.
