BitBucket 5.7.1 : why does not the tar.gz archive include JRE inside ?

Hi,

Could you please let me know why Bitbucket 5.7.1 tar.gz archive does not include JRE inside at it was in case of 5.6.1 for instance. Is it a change in policy ?

I also found a thread with similar problem in 5.5.0. Is there any rule behind the missing JRE in 5.5 and 5.7 ?

It is not difficult to install JDK/JRE but we thought the 5.7.1 package is corrupted because JRE is missing and upgrade was finally postponed. If you change the content of installation packages it should be mentioned clearly in the release notes.

Please advise,
Rafal

Hi Rafal,

I just checked, but even in 5.6.1 no JRE is included with the .tar.gz distribution of Bitbucket Server - where did you see this? To my knowledge the JRE was never distributed with the .tar.gz.

Thank you, the situation is clear now. JRE was copied to installation folder by another developer. In this case I think we can close this thread. Thank you for explanation and apologize for the fuss.
