Bamboo Can't Connect To BitBucket

Toby Stanerson September 23, 2019

When I run a Bamboo job I get the following error:

Error occurred while running Task 'Checkout Default Repository(1)' of type com.atlassian.bamboo.plugins.vcs:task.vcs.checkout.

This error may have occurred due to an authentication issue with Bitbucket Server. Save the repository configuration to refresh the authentication details or manually add the access key visible in Advanced section to Bitbucket Server.

This was working, but just stopped.  I tried to go to the Linked Repositories and click save, but that didn't work.  I tried rebooting the server, no help.

Running through the same problem, found no solution so far

To fix this issue, I had to delete the files in the Cache folder on the Bamboo Server.

  1. Stop Bamboo – Logon to the Bamboo Server, go to Services, Stop the “Atlassian Bamboo Bamboo” service.
  2. Delete the cache folder on the Bamboo server.  Delete the folders under this directory (C:\BambooData\xml-data\build-dir\_git-repositories-cache), but not the _git-repositories-cache directory.
  3. Start Bamboo – Go back to Service and start the “Atlassian Bamboo Bamboo” service.
