I logged into my account and all my repositories are missing. Last time I did commit to one of my git repos was in 2019. I wanted to resume that project but everything is gone!

How to recover all my work?

A similar question received this response from an Atlassian employee recently:

I suspect you might be looking at the wrong workspace, so could you please look for those repositories in all the workspaces you have access to ?

You can follow the below steps :

  1. Navigate to bitbucket.org and login into your account
  2. Click on your avatar icon in the upper-right corner and select the option All workspaces. This should list all the workspaces your account has access to.
  3. Click on one of the workspaces to open it, select the Repositories option in the top navigation bar, and verify if the repository you are looking for is on that list.
  4. If not, proceed to the other workspaces on the All workspaces page.

You may also want to try the process above with any other accounts you think you had access to those repos previously.

Hope that helps! Let me know in case you have any questions.

@Patrik S seems like this is a recurring issue for people.

Seconding this answer.

If that fails, the best way forward would be to reach out to Atlassian support to look into this further.

Do note that if you're on Bitbucket free, you won't be able to avail of their support team as it only comes with community support (this forum). You'll need to upgrade to be able to raise tickets with them.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

I also haven't used my BB for a while, and got shocked by seeing no repositories on the UI :O

Luckily I managed to find the links of the repositories in the auditlog (as "created" event) at https://bitbucket.org/<yourusername>/workspace/settings/auditlog

After clicking some of the repositories, the repo list got recovered at https://bitbucket.org/<yourusername>/workspace/repositories/

I believe BB puts the "non-frequent visitor's" repositories into a deep archive, and it takes time to recover them.

Please let me know if this fixes your account too.

Hi, I did checked all Workspaces before asking question here, so that wasn't the issue, nor the proper solution. I also cannot imagine upgrading to paid model, just to ask why my repos are gone. Saying that, I think somebody at Atlassian saw this post because all my repos got restored. So I would like to thank to whoever did that :)
