What websites does Bamboo access on the Internet?

Scott Foster April 12, 2018

Our security department will not allow Bamboo to access the Internet for updates and other needs without knowing what those sites are via IP or FQDN.  We have not been able adequately determine a comprehensive list of sites/IP addresses on the Internet along with associated port number that Bamboo uses for updates and other needs.  Can anyone help us out on this?

Bamboo will send the analytic data to https://btf-analytics.s3.amazonaws.com

For more information, refer to Collecting analytics for Bamboo

It can be disabled at Administration > System > Analytics

Bamboo will also connect to https://marketplace.atlassian.com to check if there is any update for add-on.

It can be disabled at Administration > Add-ons > Manage add-ons > Settings > Connect to the Atlassian Marketplace

Is this the same for the server and the agents?

That is for Bamboo server only.

For the remote agent, it need access to:

  1. your Bamboo server URL
  2. the IP address and port (default 54663) configured at Administration > System > General configuration > Broker configuration > Broker client URL

So the agents don't need any access to the Internet for updates or anything else?  Just confirming.

Yes, the only connection agent does is Bamboo server and tasks, for example checkout or SCP tasks require access to hosts configured for those tasks.
