Departments for non-Atlas users are showing

I like in Atlas / Teams that it distinguishes between teams and department. I understand that the teams are objects we create and manage as part of People, and it seems that departments are distinct values of the Department field on people's profiles.

I've gone through our employees and updated the departments. However, there are other departments listed because there are other Atlassian users (external to our company) that have access to some products. These users don't have Atlas access, and I am unable to directly edit their department in Admin.

So I was curious if there's a way, either via Atlas, or Jira/People/Teams, or the main Atlassian Admin, that I can hide or remove these extra departments?

Thanks!

Hey @Jon Karnofsky ,

Thanks for reaching out and apologies for the late response. The department is synced from an external source. There's no way to filter for it other than creating a view with a filter that has all the departments you want.

I notice that the filtering probably needs an 'is not' function but that doesn't exist today unfortunately. If this is something you feel you need, please feel free to create a ticket in our issue tracker here.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

April
