We would liket to migrate from Redmine to JIRA using REST API because we need to keep all history.
We haven't found how to use impersonate to be able to access being another user (to be able to recreate issue with the correct owner in JIRA).

I am not sure if you are aware but as part of JIM there is a plugin to import data direct from Redmine. Have you trialled this in your development area?

A word of caution here - make sure you have updated your JIM plugin to the latest version manually.
You will need to create your users in JIRA to match those in Redmine in advance but then you can map all activity across.
