We have an existing navigation bar that we have been using with our existing set of tools. It contains all our important company-specific links. It's a simple web page that we host internally.

We would like to import this navigation bar into Jira.

For example, when we go to the Jira homepage, our navigation bar is on the left in a vertical column, and the main Jira content fills the rest of the page. When navigating anywhere within Jira, our navigation bar remains on the left.

How do we go about doing this?

We ended up using the following tutorial to create our own JIRA navbar: https://developer.atlassian.com/display/JIRADEV/Plugin+Tutorial+-+Adding+your+own+Menu+Items+to+JIRA

This question was also very helpful in giving us the functionality we needed: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/69412/adding-dynamic-links-to-user-s-top-navigation-bar
