How to set location field in user profile from external

Hi together

We would like to set the location field in the user profile from an external application. Unfortunately, we didn't find a way to set the location over REST API or SOAP. Are there any experiences/possibilities?

We use a addon now which allows us to set the values. Also in the default confluence fields.
