Adding and Deleting Values to a Custom drop down list dynamically

Hi there,

We have a custom field with a drop down menu in JIRA, that needs weekly adding and deleting of options to it from the list (we're talking hundreds of changes). We are looking for a way/idea to dynamically do this either from custom code or a plugin. Any idea would be appreciated.
