Why does Jira Plan update dates in my child issues when I update it for the parent?

Hello, my team and I recently saw this change in our Plan with changing our settings. When we update the target start and end dates to our epics and initiatives, it auto updates the target start and end dates to the associated child ticket. We don't want to see this behavior, so how do we turn it off?

For more context, we have roll up date settings disabled and no other setting seems to control this behavior.
