No releases appearing in Portfolio Plan

I have created a cross project release in my plan called Wave 1.

Wave 1 appears on the timeline graph (top section) with the date I set.

It also appears in the scope (bottom section) next to each of the Epic stories and Initiatives.

When I switch to the Release View to edit the release date I receive this message

   "No releases match your current filter criteria portfolio"

I have tried removing all filters however the message remains and I see no Wave 1 release.

Any ideas?
