How can I manage my Workspace in Trello?
Manage your Workspace using the sidebar.
The sidebar menu is on the left side of every page in Trello. It’s the best place to find details about the Workspace you’re working in.
You can expand or collapse the sidebar menu to suit your viewing preferences. By default, it is expanded and displays all available options.
To collapse the sidebar, click the arrow icon at the top. This feature is particularly useful when you need more screen space to focus on board details. To expand it again, simply click the arrow icon once more.
👇Expand and collapse the sidebar.
Below the Workspace name, you will find links to the Workspace’s boards, members, and settings.
The sidebar displays all boards you’re a member of in the current Workspace under the Your boards section at the bottom of the menu. Your starred boards appear at the top of this section.

Modify your Workspace settings
Update your Workspace name and description.
You can change a Workspace’s name, description, and website to reflect your team's current focus or purpose. This helps maintain clarity and relevance as projects evolve.
From the sidebar, you can click the pencil icon next to the Workspace’s name to change it, add a website or give it a description.

Move boards between Workspaces.
You can move boards between workspaces to streamline projects, improve collaboration, or ensure your boards are accessible to the right team members.
Before you begin, ensure that you are an admin of the board you wish to move and that you have permission to add boards to the target Workspace.
To relocate a board to a different Workspace:
- Navigate to the board you want to move.
- Select More actions (represented by •••).
- Select Settings.
- Select the Workspace that the board is currently a part of. This opens the Change Workspace dialog.
- Select the desired Workspace from the dropdown list.
- Select Change to finalize the move.
Once you move the board, anyone who is a member of the board but not the Workspace will be added as a guest. This ensures they retain access to the board while maintaining the Workspace's membership structure.
👇 You can change a board’s Workspace from within the board settings.
Change your Workspace’s visibility
One critical setting you can manage is Workspace visibility to control who can see your Workspace and its boards.
Ensure that your Workspace visibility aligns with your team's collaboration needs and security requirements.
To change visibility:
- Navigate to the settings page by selecting Workspace settings from the sidebar.
- Find the Workspace visibility setting here. Trello offers different visibility options to control who can see and join your Workspace.
👇 Click the boxes below to learn about Workspace visibility options.
Delete a Workspace
Deleting a Workspace is permanent and there is no way to undo it.
If the Workspace still has an active Standard or Premium subscription, you will need to cancel the subscription before you can delete it.
Boards within the Workspace won’t be deleted. Instead, boards in this Workspace will be closed. You will be required to select a Workspace for the board when reopening it, and you can only reopen a board if you were an admin of the board.
To delete a workspace:
- Navigate to the settings page by selecting Workspace settings from the sidebar.
- Select the Delete this Workspace link at the bottom of the page.
- Enter the Workspace’s name into the field to confirm it’s deletion.
- Select Delete Workspace.
You must be an admin to access the Workspace settings and to delete a Workspace.
