Start collaborating with others by inviting them to your Workspace

Invite members to a Workspace.

Inviting members to a Workspace ensures that everyone involved in a project can collaborate by viewing, editing, and managing the Workspace's boards.
There are two ways to invite members to a Workspace.

Workspace invites allow new members to view and edit any of the boards in a Workspace. If you’re working with teammates across several projects, you’ll want to use this option.
To invite a new member to a Workspace:
  1. Navigate to the Members page by selecting Members from the sidebar for the Workspace you would like to invite them to. This is where you’ll perform all of your member admin tasks, such as changing members' permission levels or removing them from the Workspace.
  2. Select Invite Workspace members.
  3. Enter the email address or username of the person you want to invite and select it. You can personalize the invite so your team members know why they’re being added.
  4. Select Send Invite.

Accept Workspace membership requests.

People can also request to join your Workspace by selecting the Request to Join button at the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu. You can accept or deny these membership requests.
To accept a request:
  1. Navigate to the Members page by selecting Members from the sidebar.
  2. Select Pending. You will see all the people who have requested to join the Workspace.
  3. Select Add to Workspace next to their name to add them to your Workspace. Select the X to deny them access to the Workspace boards they are not a member of.

Search for Workspace members and guests.

You can easily find members by searching for Workspace members or guests who have already been added to your Workspace.
To search for a Workspace member:
  1. Navigate to the members page by selecting Members from the sidebar.
  2. Select the Filter by name field.
  3. Enter their first name, last name, or Trello username to locate the member. You’ll also find this filter in the Guests section.

Convert guests into Workspace members.

A guest is a board member who does not belong to the board’s Workspace. They can only view and edit the boards to which they’ve been added.
Converting a guest to a Workspace member will allow them to:
  • view all visible Workspace boards
  • join all Workspace visible boards
  • create new boards in the Workspace (if permitted by the Workspace settings).
To convert a guest into a Workspace member:
  1. Navigate to the Members page by selecting Members from the sidebar.
  2. Select Guests. This page will show you all of your single-board and multi-board guests.
  3. Find the guest you want to convert into a member. Select Add to Workspace next to their name.

View Workspace member activity.

In a Workspace, you can view all of the boards that a member is on, as well as view the cards assigned to them.
To view a member’s activity:
  1. Navigate to the Members page by selecting Members from the sidebar.
  2. From here you can see how many boards each member is on. Select View Boards next to the member’s name.
  3. You can see all the boards that the member is on. Hover over the board name and select Remove to remove the member from that board.

Add another Workspace admin.

It’s a best practice to have multiple admins in a Workspace, this ensures there are additional Workspace admins as a backup if one admin leaves or is unavailable.
The member you want to add as an admin must already be a normal Workspace member, or invited to become one.
To change their status to an admin:
  1. Navigate to the Members page by selecting Members from the sidebar.
  2. Find the person you want to convert into an admin. Select the button next to their name listing their current member status and change it from Normal to Admin.
