  • So, @Andy - PTC Redundant , here's the cool thing about this board (and there are many, many others like it); the keys are what and where you want them. Using QMK you can make the layout what you want including extra "layers" (think of them as more "shifts") to have keys do exactly what you want. My layout may well not be…
  • @Jimmy Seddon , I am a misplaced Canadian living in SoCal. It is highly amusing to a) try to explain curling here and b) reveal that we both had that as a sport in high school phys ed and that I skipped rinks in a league. The only sport that can be played at Olympic level while holding a beer and a smoke.
  • sigh Nerd-dom... where does one start? For me, when I am not causing glazed eyes over a super cool post function that is HTML encoded email with embedded Groovy for conditions including what goes in the email with fancy velocity output formatting... it's keyboards. Lots of keyboards... I am writing this little missive on a…
  • Hi @Corinne Dent I'll let @DPKJ add his own $0.02 but his points are seriously important. Dates: It's not just easier to search but also far easier to track stale issues. In some of my non-tech projects, there might be SEVERAL dates (not just a due date) so that different timings can be managed and reminded on…
  • Hi @oliolioli If you haven't used them up, you do get more than one trial to use. I think you can request a new trial license. Also, while you give up the JSD functionality, you can also convert that project to a "Software" project. You'd have to recreate all your queues, SLAs, etc but you wouldn't lose any data.
  • Hi mani@123 , I do exactly that function as a post function using the JMWE app Email Issue post function. It's highly flexible, makes nice looking emails, can have all manner of HTML formatting in it and, if you get fancy, can embed Groovy in it to make the email conditional (I have one that can look 3 different ways from…
  • Hi @Mike Leydet It's a tiny bit of a hack BUT one way you can do this (and I've done it) is to actually, in your example above, put in nine discrete JQL macros. Basically, * Project 1* Launched is one macro * Completed is another * Total is a another Insert the macro with the JQL and configure it to show an issue count. It…
  • Short answer, @JP _AC Bielefeld Leader_ , is that no, I didn't. I cobbled this together out of several "half answers" that did some but not all and some I transposed from what ostensibly worked with Apache. Basically, after struggling to make Apache work for a day and a half, I gave up and had the NGINX config above…
  • Hi @Tripline Yes... it will work and take far less time than trying to figure out the ins/outs/wherefores of doing it even on a supported version of Apache. Here's the config I used for Confluence successfully: server { server_name .confluence.company.com; listen 80; location / { return 301…
  • Hi @Gabriele Caprio This does seem odd indeed, especially if it was running before. That said Jira will do a bunch of table updates on start for "current state" kinda stuff (at least that is what I presume is happening. This does feel a lot like Jira can't access the database for some reason or doesn't have permission to…
  • Good morning @Troy_Pawleska , @robert Mugabuhamye has the right way for us to start helping you. That said, there are some rather fundamental changes from 7.x.x to 8.x.x. A couple of things you might start to look at: * Do you have any Groovy scripts in basically anything? If you do and they're calling ComponentAccessor,…
  • Beach reads for me tend to not be remotely related to work. I use the time to disconnect and recharge. RE-reads (those books one goes back to again and again) tend to be from Robert A. Heinlein, Spider Robinson, Terry Pratchett, and the late, great Douglas Adams. While the books are available on my phone, I have a…
  • Great one @Derek Fields _RightStar_ I've done the same thing.... Common ones for the 80% transitions and make others only for special snowflake workflows and transitions. Saves no end of pain and anguish.
  • Good morning @Sam Betlem , Can you click the "edit" on that macro and paste the screenshot of the configuration for it?
  • Did you have a look in $CONF_HOME/logs/atlassian-synchrony.log? That might have some clues... A "hail mary" approach also might be to stop Confluence, clear the plugin cache, and restart... I know it's rather a "Windoze" way of doing things but when all else failed and I ran out of patience trying to fix in place, that was…
  • Good article @Jodi LeBlanc All of us should practice this in many aspects. Even when I get a particularly large user "request" for some part of my world to do a new and wonderful thing, I take this approach. Break down the request into the chunks needed to execute and have the requestor have a look to make sure we're…
  • Hi @Noe Masis It starts to feel like there was a change in a proxy/firewall/something. A shot in the dark, try to edit a page from an incognito browser window and see what you get.
  • Dang... thought you might have been onto something. I put that same script (albeit without your very good suggestion) in the initializer and... same result. The validation still validates correctly but the results cited above still are present.
  • Hi @Ilya Turov , I should've mentioned; I have this in as a server side script. I do not however have this in as an initializer. Perhaps I should put the same script in both places?
  • Hi @Sam Betlem It seems like you're somehow ending up with the wrong macro in there. Check your page and make sure you inserted the "Office Excel" macro and you are explicitly pointing at the Excel file in the configuration for the macro.
  • Hi @Noe Masis It sounds like your Synchrony service has taken a header for some reason in your instance. Go to the Administration -> General Configuration -> Collaborative editing section. If it's happy (which I suspect it's not) you'll see a happy green "Running" lozenge there. Things to check; make sure there aren't any…
  • Hi @Philipp Wieseckel From what I gather, OpenJ9 is not currently supported officially and, it seems, in practice. I tried to use the OpenJ9 variant with both Jira and Confluence and they were both highly unhappy. I keep watching the new version release pages waiting for OpenJ9 and will leap at that when I can.
  • Hi @Janine Mostert It feels like a AND/OR logic problem in absence of the example JQL that @Susan Hauth _Jira Queen_ asked for to help us debug your issue... so... if I were guessing.... Your initial that shows all the tickets the JQL might be: project = <someproject> AND issuetype = "contract request" AND resolved is not…
  • Hi @Ariel Gavillon I think @Radhika Vijji _Innovalog_ has the right idea there; it looks across all the tickets in the project and returns whether that combo is present or not yet. You probably want to have some sort of "cleanup" mechanism, however. If the project gets big with tons of tickets it can take a while to parse…
  • Hi @Ariel Gavillon , There are a handful of ways to approach this but the one that leaps immediately to mind is to use JMWE and write a groovy validator to check for current user, the value of the field, and number of open tickets. JMWE makes it pretty easy and, aside from logic will hold your hand through picking the…
  • Hi @Gerry Poulin , I suspect it's something your Jira admins changed as that can be a configurable item. I'd suggest you reach out to them to get it fixed. Typically, for the general user community in most cases, I don't even present the "Reporter" field and always have it be the current user. One thing you can try; there…
  • @Monique vdB that is exactly the approach I took. I started out with the above noted irrigation lines with risers to water pots and a simple irrigation timer and since went the route of a smart one (Orbit B-Hyve which, so far is the only one I've found with a small amount of stations). My "gardening" became only that I…
  • @Marcos Sanchez I voted for your answer as well as accepting @Mark Markov 's answer. These gave me two parts of things that I... need. Cheers!
  • @Mark Markov , this variant just solved for part of a thing I am developing and is a clean, elegant way of doing this.
  • When the kids became grown up and gone, we sold the big house and bought a small one with a "zero lot line" yard. Having had enough of the big yard and its care, I had the whole thing done in pavers. I installed drip watering under it with risers every 10 ft to attach hoses for drip emitters for plants in pots on two…
