Hi @Dave Theodore [Coyote Creek Consulting] This may well be the route I take as others are proving... complex. It'll be a little ugly with some groups having a single human in them and the reshuffling as they reshuffle both execs and departments... yay... I'll take a shot at this as it seems the best way to go. mike

@Kian Stack Mumo Systems I accepted your answer on behalf of all us that either didn't know or forgot that happy thing... worked like a charm for me in a little festival I hd going here.

Oh.. one more simple one... I just dropped a ticket with a plugin vendor for an odd problem. They use (duh) JSD. It returned the default JSD response: "Just confirming that we got your request. We're on it." That reminded me of this tip.... I ran into a case where a person in the user community, base on the wording of the…

@Monique vdB , he's from Barcelona, you know....

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- , "She turned me into a newt.... I got better"

Oh... forgot one more that works well for me... When I am creating/updating/etc workflows, I tend to version them... Not deeply, a VM.m type of versioning. I don't always update the version with every change if small but if there is any substance to a workflow change: * Copy the current workflow and give it a new version…
-
To extend/spin @Jack Brickey 's comments: * Assume that you will be adding Automation for Jira, Scriptrunner, JMWE, and JMCF so... just do that. A solid basic toolset for most of The Things.* Learn Groovy. * Try to follow the principles set forth in recent articles to avoid "anti-pattern" but don't do it at expense of…

Short answer is "I dunno". You will be right but I've never expended the energy to look for 'em. Usually I just utter a few rather... pithy... words and then attach image files... Would be interested if anyone else comes up with something on this so I can have a "better" answer for my user community.

Hi @Glenda Smith , I run into this all the time... and finally gave up doing direct copy/paste of screenshots to pages as they had a rather ephemeral feel such as you're seeing now. I can see a nice page I just created, publish it and... nada. While a bit of a PITA, I've taken the approach of attaching the captures as…

From despair.com (the best source of wonderful demotivational posters), this is my coffee cup for the office.
-
I usually start my day with a liter of Death Wish Coffee Valhalla Blend. First one because until I blacken my blood enough is Keurig. Then will go to pour over. In the evenings when I get a bit over-tired and can't sleep a Vietnamese Drip of something black will lift me just enough that I am out like a light. Overall, I…
-
If I have time, the Vietnamese drips are awesome and especially if you use some of the better Truong Nguyen coffees... Also, cold or hot, sweetened condensed milk is always a Good Thing

Hmm... if that is what you are after, unless this is some super special action across the board in your environment, I've not yet come across a case where a post function couldn't make all manner of things happen. If you want some asynchronous/global thingies, you might also look at Automation for Jira. That might get you…

Good call @JP _AC Bielefeld Leader_ I have mine behind an NGINX server (my preference as about 1,936 times easier to get configured right) and it does what you say. Cert changes are simple and quick (only takes seconds to reload the NGINX container when there are new certs rather than bouncing Jira and Confluence). I…

Always glad to help @akempler-delugach. I too was in your shoes one time. Jira is a great tool, huge, and complex but it ends up being rather fun to bend it to your will.
-
Good morning @akempler-delugach There are a few ways of going about this. Note that doing it directly in JSD isn't all that obvious. * If you want to do it directly in JSD, where you'd "auto-assign" a particular Customer Request Type to a specific assignee is to:* Add the "assignee" field to your request form. It'll drop…
-
Good morning @Em If you have a jar file that dropped out of the dev environment, you should be able to just install it directly via the app manager... That'll put it where it's needed and get it started up when you drop it in (and then persist). Events.... so far I've not descended to that madness... for me, there's enough…
-
Hi @Em I am not sure you need to add them to your container unless you have your database and home directories in the container as well (likely not good practice). I took the approach that my containers are as basic as they can be and are both stateless and location agnostic. The only things I add to the Docker images are…

The short answer to taht @akempler-delugach is no... The longer answer is based on Atlassian's admonition to not delete issues and other things. While it is indeed possible to, for example, write a groovy script that deletes an issue, there is always the danger that any one of us writes it "wrong" and leave the…
-
Have a look at this page (and you can set the version of Jira you're using in the upper right of the page) and see if this helps. https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0713/advanced-workflow-configuration-964983727.html There is lots of good help in there. Good luck getting going with Jira. It's a huge tool and…
-
Hi @Chris Wolford There isn't a lot to go on in your post but there are rather a lot of things that you need to do to get this going.... * Jira Config for SSL * Confluence Config for SSL From these, I suspect you're going to need to add the public key for the AD server to your cacerts file to let Jira/Confluence talk to it…
-
Hi @a_s_evotor , The way you'll want to do that is, on the transition to "Completed" add a condition to the workflow. In that you can set a specific human or a Jira Group (or a variety of human values including custom fields) as being the only ones that can make the transition.
-
Also... don't forget to "Accept Answer" on stuff that gets you going from any of us here :-P
-
@akempler-delugach , you are exactly right... I have both automations driven from JSD and I've got a lot of stuff baked into the workflow (conditions, validators, and post functions, most of them driven by JMWE) that makes it do what I want it to do. In most cases, once I got the workflow "right", I only have to code for…
-
Hi @Beth Starr I had a quick look and my first inclination was the right one it seems... The answer is simpler and just leave "Due Date" off the edit screen as seen here. The answer @MoroSystems Support noted there was seconded by @[deleted] who I've long respected in the "been there, done that, broke that" realm with…
-
Hi @akempler-delugach , What you're embarking on is possible but not... simple... To my mind, this might actually make it a bit harder to have a common workflow that fits All The Things. That said, what you might try to do is expand your workflow to have the different statuses after the one you expose to the JSD customer.…
-
Hi @Spyros Iordanopoulos , Usually what I do in these cases is change the workflow to have a status for this situation, such as "QA Testing". When in this status, I also usually assign the QA person the ticket.
-
Hi @Luisina García , I run up against this same problem with needing multiple assignees all the time. Unfortunately, Jira doesn't provide for this natively. What I've done, usually, is create a second custom field that can have multiple people and call it something like "Alternate Assignees" (to keep the name separate from…
-
Ah yes... there is a bit more that needs to be done. This page is a good writeup on what you need to do for Confluence to be SSL (assuming no proxy or anything like that). It's not tough but all the things need to be done there. Look in your newly built Confluence to find definitively which Java you're pointing at; go to…
