Very well stated as always, @Teodora V _Warsaw Dynamics_ . I always have a communication plan crafted for any larger <insert thing> and these mechanisms do yeoman's work of implementing/executing it. Getting the right information to the right people in the right way should be on all our minds.

Hi @Rajan Kumar Sah Assuming you are coming from a webdrive, (GDrive, O365), you should only need to drop a share link for the folder on the edit page (and also assuming you are in the "new editing experience". You'll get a human usuable link displayed on your page.
-
Hi @Linda Noonan Assuming you have Confluence as well as Jira, there are a variety of quite good Jira forms for Confluence on Atlassian Marketplace. I have used those in the past on server and now on Cloud. They work quite well.
-
Hi @Konstantin Zakharchenko , I noted that when the new UI appeared. Seems it is a bug which does show "In Progress" https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-12507
-
Thanks for getting this out there @Dan Hranj . I have been pestered a lot about this since this came out. I wrote a rather long explanation to be shared citing corroborating evidence that the OP was blaming their hack on someone/something else whilst apparently trying to get business to confirm that water is wet and the…

Hi @Clare Lawson That would be a workflow thing to do. Add a validator on the close transition that the field cannot be blank (or require it to be changed) to make the transition. Let me know if this helps
-
What @Mikael Sandberg said... I have often used a similar field that is on a transition screen and required when transitioning to a blocked status. That way you don't end up with issues in blocked status and no clue why they are. I also typically add the link issues fields to that transition if it is possible another issue…

I like all of those but, showing my age as much as the grey hair, I still like Looney Toons over all of them. Favorite franchises in Looney Toons? When Wile E. Coyote talks and is pitted against Bugs. Glorious.
-
That is awesome @Sandy ! I will watch for it and start reading docs on it here. Is there a link to "official" docs for this enhancement yet?
-
Do you know when we might start to see this roll out to production, @Sandy ? I just looked at two of my orgs and neither of them have that yet. In one of them, it would be so, so helpful; G-Suite groups are rather better organized than the dumpster fire that is Okta. It would be nice to leverage that.

I DID follow that thinking, @Sergei Gridnevskii , but the inability to deal with attachments without hacks along with the ability for rather more crisp validation and conditioning such as you cite reversed me. Since I can do all the things in JMWE, AND all the automation is contained in a single place I have taken the…
-
My list includes: * Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (Appfire): A definitive "Swiss Army Knife" of tools that I refuse to operate a Jira instance without. It lets me crisply validate and condition workflows and events, share setups, make async sync, and handle extensions which Automation seems to struggle with.12 * Structure…

I should have mentioned that there are some stellar regex testers available. When you don't live in regex, as many of us don't, one needs a bit of guidance with syntax to get it right and avoid unfortunate regex-induced faceplants. The three I keep in my bookmark list (each has it's own flavor and abilities; I often bounce…

Using the "do these things in order" function in JMWE is your friend with the race conditions. I tend to use that were input of one step is dependent on the preceding step having completed, @Leonard Hussey
-
That is precisely the reason I use JMWE in place of Automation. I have the control over that one and can make tools that benefit more than one flake. I do also limit the number of project admins and try to keep it at least of the "not dangerous with adult supervision" skill level
-
The OTHER thing I use JMWE for, @Sue Wilson , is for a lot of the automations that Automation for Jira is ostensibly supposed to do. I have found the selectivity, validation, and consistency to be a soothing balm, not to mention it can deal with attachments because attachments are a Thing. I took to doing the real…
-
Hi, @Sue Wilson I feel your pain. I have been there and do miss the crispness of Groovy along with the features that don't exist in Cloud. However... I did see that ScriptRunner behaviors are coming to Cloud. Other than that it will exist, I do not know if it will bring the full panoply of features to Cloud. I keep…

AND that the Cloud version isn't missing critical features.

This is a great topic, @Matt Rice . I can give a baseline that is a fundamental beyond the salient points raised by @Craig Nodwell and @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ ... UNLESS the environment is dead simple and is NOT likely a blocking factor to work being done, two. Having been a SPOF in a busy and complex environment, it…
-
Hi @Clare Lawson I did a quick grep as this can be a Thing and I think this page will get you going.
-
As others have commented, I am not aware of such a limitation but it seems monumentally unworkable in practice. Even just the select list would be monumentally unwieldy not to mention confusing for users. When I see this, this feels a lot more like a handful of issue types but with some other select lists (and do…
-
Hi @Mark Lampert , I am not necessarily aware of a class but you can start here with the Jira Macro and get used to pulling stuff into Confluence. You can do some charting in the same manner. Note that you can also insert a Jira Macro inside a charting macro to use both their powers together. I hope this at least starts…
-
Great article @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ and kudos to @Kasia Allen of seeing the potential then executing. It gets better when one starts encompassing All the Things so you have the interplay between every group/discipline captured. I look forward to hearing more.
-
HI @tom.sheffield The templates are great to get you going. They are, however, only a solid first approximation. Your next task, after your HR team gets settled into the new world is find out what they don't like and fix that first. After that, head down the path of asking them what you can do for the cases where they get…
-
You might need to have two rules; one for create and one for field changed. I would try with the rule you showed there and test. The hole I can see is the async nature where the field is filled but there isn't an actual issue yet to trigger the change event. I had not seen that issue with too many rows but I've not…
-
Hi @Gail Nope... not painful and I am gratified to see another weirdo like me that uses Jira outside the traditional techdev realm. I don't have the exact incantation in front of me but the framework is: * Trigger on "Requestor Team" value changing.* This covers both create and subsequent changes to that field * Lots of…

What @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- said. Even your question title kind of gets it wrong and is predicated on the clumsy nature of SharePointless. You don't need a documentation library for Confluence. It is best USED as your documentation library as is. I predict when you pivot to this mode of usage, you will come to view…
-
Hi @Madhu Reddy So... short answer is you CAN but that is leaving most of the power of Confluence on the floor. Having been in both worlds, I find SharePoint to be one of the least capable of this genre of tool and, because all the things are hard to do in SharePoint it does usually end up being used in the manner you…
-
Hi @[deleted] I don't have one at hand but a good set of answers is provided in this community post. It seems, and I agree, that a 3rd party app to help you will be a Good Thing so your data comes across with the highest fidelity possible. Hope this points you in some directions...

I am glad this resonated with you @Dave LIAO I think we could simply state that we need more empathy in the world. Those of us in our world, since we touch enough humans across the board, doing it in our context might at least move the needle a bit.
