Hi Matt, thanks for explaining. I had already tried refreshing the board a few times. We firmly disagree with the proposed direction here. It will add friction and make your product more annoying for us. Most of the other changes here are cosmetic from our perspective and have marginal benefit. Let's see what other teams…

Hi Matthieu, The button limit remains five, but having more filters no longer causes all of them to collapse into a dropdown. I've turned on the new board to explore this, but I don't really understand what you mean here. It doesn't seem any different on our instance (yet) - we cannot pin custom filters. Basically we need…

Thanks. I had already raised this with Atlassian support and they said it was a result of the new work item view, and created a suggestion: JRACLOUD-100026 Provide an option to disable truncation of the Description in the Modern work item view I've shared this feedback in the GA thread.
-
After turning on the New Jira Work Item Beta in mid-October. This week we noticed the work item description is truncated to only a few lines (with a link to show full description). My users immediately complained about this and asked how to turn it off. Maybe this change makes sense for the sidebar preview of an issue from…

After the modern work item view changed to truncate/hide the description even in the full issue view, we disable the beta for all users. This was not a good idea - when will you have an option to disable that feature?
-
This seems to have been fixed now.

@Ahmud Auleear - Today we notice that only the first few lines of the Description are visible - now users need to click the link at the bottom "Show full description" to read the full description. Maybe some people would like this, but we want to turn this off. Is this going to be an optional feature? Should we just…

We've encountered a bug that discards edits to Description fields (does not seem to affect comments). I think it might have happened in other situations, but this one I realised exactly what happened and could reproduce it… Steps to Produce Edit description including a bullet list Change the bullet list to a task list…

Thanks. Our boards usually have 10 or more quick filters - we create one for each team member. We use quick filters (instead of the user avatars) because We want to show all tickets each person has been the assignee, not just the current assignee. The user avatar filters are clumsy to use on a touchscreen and also require…

Good Layout in the left (main) pane fits slightly more in the same vertical space. But this is mostly by reducing the summary font size and adding actions to the right of the summary. You can drag panels in the right sidebar to change the order (e.g. Apps, Automation and Development) The summary is always visible - cuts…

Overall the changes look ok - but I have some minor grumbles… The new board does not seem to allow Custom filters to be pinned - so they remain visible on the screen. This is a feature we use every day at team standups. Do you plan to match the functionality of the old board experience? The filter feature is more flexible,…

Thanks Josh - will add some of these to my list. Indeed most of our customers are corporates - so Outlook Desktop is probably one of the big email clients they use.

Thanks for the helpful advice. For my team, tables are regularly used to communicate time sequences for a specific issue, so we cannot simplify quite as much as you suggest. For a number of reasons, we do not plan to use the JSM portal. It lacks important features we need, and (for other reasons) we expect our customers…

The AI stuff sounds cool, but the lack of 'basic' functions is more important to us. Gaps currently block our adoption of JSM or CSM. For example... when will these get some attention? JSDCLOUD-8006 KB: Allow page restrictions to be assigned based on Organizations - similar to user groups (CSM cannot do this either) JSM *…
-
We explored CSM a few months back, and also felt underwhelmed. Despite CSM being built for the main use-case we wanted, JSM felt better (and more mature). To be expected given how much older it is. Both have strange restrictions and gaps that have (so far) discouraged us from using either product. Every org will have a…

* I have not spent a lot of time tweaking my instructions, but found the following worked ok. Convert your output to HTML without inserting unnecessary newline characters. Do not use horizontal lines to separate sections. * Yes I had considered that - haven't done this yet, but I think it would work.
-
@Alex Gallien - thanks for the suggestion. Didn't occur to me to try. Indeed it does work but: * The resulting email had a large amount of whitespace. To the point it was not really usable. I'll experiment some more to see if I can get it to generate better HTML. * This means the agent could not be used interactively.…

Thanks @Alex Gallien - do Atlassian have any plans to add a skill for emails?

I've been trying the same kind of thing during the last couple of weeks and am currently stuck. The Rovo Agent part mostly works - but is limited by what JQL can do. This can limit what Rovo can get out of Jira. Using ScriptRunner I have worked-around that. Now I'm stuck with the sending email part. The approach I'm trying…

I am not aware of a guide to transition from JSM to CSM, but Atlassian have shared some content about getting started via the Forum Customer Service Management Group.
-
We use Jira Projects for two distinct collections of work: * Activities on a product. * Activities for a conventional project (with a start and an end). Whether this make sense really depends on how you use Jira.
-
Great to see you're trying to make something better for external customer support than JSM. I started exploring CSM this week. Unfortunately CSM shares the same limitations that have stopped us using JSM: * Does not allow open email submission with closed Portal+KB. * No access permission for KB content - customers can see…

Hmm - I've had a look and I cannot find it either. The new nav on our instance does not match the documentation. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/brand-your-help-center/ The documentation reads like this is only possible with Premium or Enterprise plans. But I'm on Premium and cannot find…

We feel like the decision-making process around the UI has been broken for some years. Not just this example. I cannot remember a UI change that has actually delivered a real benefit for my users. Rather than focusing on layout changes and tweaks for new users - the most common complaints from my experienced long-term…

We also want open email access but closed portal access. Our main reason is to ensure KB content is only available to customers. Does JSM provide separate control for KB access?
-
Perhaps if Atlassian implement this suggestion it would help address some of the debate: JRACLOUD-96303 Ability to switch from "spaces" back to "projects" in Jira As long-term Jira customers we prefer "project", to distinguish these from Confluence "space" and do not want to change. When will the Jira project be finished?…
-
@Vincent Briere I just found your old post - this feature request might be relevant: * JSDCLOUD-6307 Separate access control for the portal vs email submission This feature was first suggested in November 2015, and a number of other JAC tickets have suggested the same thing.
