Hi @Aman Sinha That's a good question, and it's definitely on our roadmap to open up the Services schema so you can add custom attributes. One solution is to create a duplicated Services schema as you say. And certainly you can do that but we found it wasn't ideal when we tried it in our internal demo. It's too fragmented.…

@Dirk Ronsmans So I should have said IQL and placeholders. To filter one custom field on the value of the other you'd use a placeholder to reference the above custom field. Like in the final example of this blog: https://www.rightstar.com/atlassian-jira-community/using-insight-as-an-object-oriented-database-part-3/
-
@Dirk Ronsmans It's different to how it works on-prem. There's no Insight Referenced Object field. Instead, you have the option of 'filter issue scope' in the configuration settings of a regular Insight Object field. I believe it can do most of the things the Referenced Object field can do but you have to write it out in…

@Effie Bagourdi [Nimaworks] and @Dirk Ronsmans It's now available and working well!
-
Hi @[deleted] It isn't possible today, but we are working hard to make it possible. We'll add an export/import feature for object schemas so you can export your schema from the plug-in and import it into the JSM Premium version of Insight. You can expect this around July I think.
-
Hi @Effie Bagourdi [Nimaworks] , By placeholders I believe you mean filter issue scope? Where you can filter the Insight objects in a custom field based on the values of fields in the issue itself? It's coming really soon, should be there in the next few weeks or so all things being well. I'll try and remember to post and…

Hi @Connor We're looking to have the data migration tool out some time this summer. It will be centred around an export/import functionality. I'm not 100% sure at what level but I think it should be at the object schema level. So you will export each of your schemas + types + objects from old Insight and import them into…

Hi @Gary.Smith and @Dirk Ronsmans Just to add to the conversation, we are working on making automated imports of Discovery files significantly easier on Cloud. I believe there are ways you can do it today but it's a bit of a hack.

@Kevin Thibeault Hi Kevin, the post above is purely about the Cloud API. But we do have a Data Center API too. I should have mentioned it! The documentation can be found here. https://documentation.mindville.com/display/INSSERV/Insight+REST-API It'll eventually move over to the Atlassian site but it will work for now.…
-
Hi @Wolff Do you mean the standalone app Insight? That will be end-of-lifed at the end of next March for Cloud. The aim is to have everyone migrate to this new integrated version in Premium. More specifics can be seen here: https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/insight-jira-service-management As to the vision - short term we…
-
@Martyn Bell @Wolff @Gayan Gunapala @Tom Moors @felipe_lucena I apologise for the delay, it's taken a little longer than hoped, but the Insight API is now available. Community post on REST API In that community post is a link to a survey about future Integrations for Insight Cloud. We would really appreciate it if you…

Hi @John Funk , apologies for my slow reply, I've been on vacation. I believe my colleague Kate has answered your question on OG on a different thread (she's the one I would ask too as she's the OG expert around these parts!). Regarding the timeframe for the API we are talking months and I'm personally hoping for weeks :)
-
Hi @Adam Bosen I actually did publish one recently and it can be found here: Template walkthrough It takes influence from the Data Center template but I split some of the objects into different schemas as, in my opinion, it makes it significantly easier to manage long term. It's Cloud focused as I'm shamelessly trying to…
-
Hi @John Funk , so the OG details should be available from Billing or from the General Settings pages but you need to be the Owner of your OG site to view them I believe. However, I think because OG is now included as part of JSM plans, it may not show which OG plan you have (as your JSM plan determines your OG plan even…
-
Hi @Vergel Verceles , yes, that's correct. Insight is only available on Premium and Enteprise plans. Hi @John Funk I'm afraid I'm not super knowledgable with Opsgenie but my colleague is so I'll get an answer from her today and let you know :) Another question I've received is: How can we move an object type into their own…
-
@Roy Darch For now, I don't think there's a 'select all objects based on this filter' option. But you could use automation rules to achieve what I think you're after. For example: I might have 100 laptops in Insight - 50 macbooks and 50 thinkpads. For whatever reason, I might want to link all 50 macbooks to an issue which…

Hi @Martin Vogt We are currently in a bit of a messy middle where we have both the old standalone Cloud app (documentation.mindville.com) and the new, integrated version of Insight (as covered by confluence.atlassian.com). I'll try and get the old Mindville documentation pages updated to make this clearer. If you are using…

Hi @Jose Manuel Acosta Insight Discovery (auto Discovery) is already available for Cloud. There's no firm dates for other integrations yet, but cloud providers are a top priority for us. We will be updating the public roadmap when we have more of an idea of when these integrations will appear. I think you can expect some…

Hi @Mary Beth Snapp For Insight for JSM Data Center, we do have a number of templates including one for ITSM. For Insight for JSM Cloud, we currently don't have any templates. They are on our backlog to add, but I'm not sure when you can expect them. I actually plan to write a Community article next week on this very…
-
@Martyn Bell and @Wolff Your data will not be automatically merged over from the 'original' Insight cloud app and this new integrated version. However, we are working on tools to help make this a significantly less manual process which you can expect sometime before June. To answer your other questions Martyn, 1. Insight…
-
Hi @Jose Manuel Acosta , the Insight Discovery license will be included under the JSM Premium licensing. You will need to download it from the Marketplace still but it will be free.
-
Hey @Paul Cook , there isn't a roadmap just yet but we're working on getting one out there as we know many people are eager for even more functionality! We're always happy to hear requests, is there anything else other than SCCM/Intune that would be useful to you?
-
Hi @Matt Lane, I'm afraid not. We're planning to add people at regular intervals so it's hard to say that someone specifically not been granted access. As maybe they could get it in future. Hi @Paul Cook, in this version we have CSV, JSON and Insight Discovery as importable data sources. Integrations with third party tools…

If you're not able to join the EAP we're running a webinar in early April all about this new version of Insight for Jira Service Management Cloud. You can register here. It's episode 10. It will be more focused at people that haven't used Insight before, but we'll be showing off some of the new functionality of Insight…
-
Hi Tobias @tokcum Yes, historically our Cloud version has lagged behind the on prem version unfortunately. But I believe this new release will close that gap significantly. Regarding how we will roll it out it will be in steps. With each new version closing that gap more and more along with some new features. Is there…

Hi Kwansoon @kwansoon park Currently Insight doesn't support discovery/importing of Kubernetes data natively. You're not the first person to ask so I hope we get it one day. However, there's likely a way to get the data you need from Kubernetes into Insight. If you're on Server or Data Center you can create your own…
-
Hi Chris, There's nothing 'out of the box' to do that in Insight unfortunately. Although a 'create issue for object' button is a nice idea! As for a workaround, I'm not sure there is just yet. I was thinking you could try having an attribute for the object called 'Create Service Request?' and have the value always set to…
-
Hi @diarmuid kingsleigh-smith The answer is soon! Insight was bought by Atlassian last year so a big part of our road map for Jira Service Management is to bring tighter integration between JSM and the Insight CMDB. I would maybe suggest keeping an eye out on release news next week.... If you're using Cloud then we're…

Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for all the in-depth feedback and helping us with this! Far more than we were expecting. I have not forgotten the swag, but every time I sit down to order it more replies come in! I'll give it another week or two and get a small thank you sent over over the new year :) Thanks, Charlotte

Hi Jason, Thank you for your reply, it's really helpful and informative. Importing and IQL has come up a lot so that's definitely some key areas for us to focus on! When you say more videos on how to use the tool, do you mean videos with more 'real world' examples? Rather than just 'this is how X feature works'? I'm also…
