  • @[deleted]wasn't there an effort to use a custom user field to have a co-developer setup where two people were working on the same project at the same time? I think it may have fallen out of favor perhaps for the same reason. I agree with Nic though on the potential pitfall. Why not use a subtask to add people to the issue…
  • Hi @Rob Horan I just saw this pop-up. 🤣 I gave up on this prior to you originally asking because I had already gone down the rabbit hole and refused to look but I'm thinking there was an add-on that would do that. I may have finally caved and gone looking. I've kind of decided that this is something I need to learn about…
  • Well while I'm working with this infernal machine, I mostly listen to NPR or our own local community radio station https://kxci.org/ and Spotify playlists otherwise I've been listening to Firesign Theatre.
  • @Simone Rieckethere is one other gotcha there I forgot to tell you about. If I remember correctly Jira will still convert every 6 hrs. into one day. i.e. - if your contract worker works 10 hours one week, it will come out as 1 Day, 4 hours. I'm sorry if that detail throws another spanner in the works.
  • @Douglas A EvarettsI'm not sure if you are asking for some help with this question or not. If so, let us know and we'll all pitch in.
  • @[deleted]yes, tables are a bit fidgety as well. I have noticed at least in one instance where I believe an Atlassian employee has used a different on-line editor to create his content (I think he used the new Dropbox Paper tool) which I was going to try and do. I realize that I'm going against my comment about add-ons but…
  • The time format is changed under System settings, Look and Feel. The time tracking is set under Settings, Issues, Time Tracking. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  • @Simone RieckeI'm not sure I totally understand your question. Each individual can log their own work time against an issue (if you have logging turned on and the permissions set correctly). If you are looking to set how time is recorded that is in the settings as well. For instance if you want to have a 10 hour day…
  • Of course it does. I thought there was a keystroke way to set the numbering or was that in the old style editor?
  • @Marlene Kegel - codefortynineso you do have a bot watching the community for Deep Clone mentions. 🤣 Good to hear. Yours is one of the few Add-ons I could justify. In fact other than going with a premium subscription to Jira to get unlimited automation, Deep Clone was going to be it. It really does work as advertised (so…
  • @MariyaI have used an add-on (not mine) called Deep Clone. I used the trial version and found it to do what I needed. I was going to purchase it until a budget cut changed that idea. I'm not sure if it will clone a whole project because we don't use projects in that way and I never tried that. I'm sure you can buy an…
  • @Stacey Wong Good morning, I'm interested in this as well. I'm assuming you are looking for a site/org admion to set up the system. I've been working as the site and org admin as well as scrum master in a company that is very similiar in size to yours. I will email my resume to you as well.
  • Like some other folks here, I too became the Jira Admin as well as Scrum master for our company. I've learned a lot about how to set things up even with my limited knowledge (thank you for your YouTube tutorials @Bogdan Gorka ). I'm now starting to figure out what certifications I should acquire to add to my qualifications…
  • Gotta love the IT guys. You're probably right in your suspicion although I see it as a "what did they just update" kind of thing. 🤣Good luck with that. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  • I also found this link that sounds like it is a similar problem. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Jira-Cloud-for-Excel-Functions-stopped-working/qaq-p/1412424
  • I'm not quite sure where to start with this. I use this tool all the time but I must admit that I think something has changed recently. I've found I need to open it in the 365 cloud first before I can open it on my desktop. I mention this because it appears that you might also be using Firfox as a browser.
  • @Mathi DissanayakeI agree with Derek. You can create a second board with a different filter. It sounds like you might need to either use components or create two separate projects to get two different boards.
  • @Julian Governaleagreed. I really wanted to know how to code it. I end up doing the image manipulation sometimes (add pointy arrows to pics I need to attach to an issue). I did go over to Confluence and try the very thing you suggested using the built-in tools of setting the image on the page and wrapping the text but…
  • @Julian GovernaleI got it to work. Thanks again for the Confluence idea. Now that I've learned something new I want to continue fooling around with it. I can't seem to figure out how to get multiple lines of text to be to the right of the image. I've included two images. The top one is my modified dashboard where I used…
  • @Julian GovernaleDOH! That's a brilliant idea. I never even thought about using Confluence to hold the images. I did think about using our SharePoint system as well after I posted my reply. I'll give that a go.
  • @Julian Governalethis is the example code I referred to. So, I have no idea where the image that was there comes from so I can't point to it. You also reference the attached image example but I don't have any idea how to attach an image. So here we are using wiki markup. It has the image icon we could use to attach the…
  • Wow! Same with me. I actually got more than I thought I would. Especially for how many times I've tried to get more than the other three people in the company to start using it. I thought spray painting my answers as well as finally posting a cat GIF here a fitting way to end 2020.
  • Good point. My thinking is that we aren't capturing all of the work that is happening. I get that some of this work isn't part of the main project goals so it's perceived we don't want to include it in the Total work required for the project. One of the reasons given for not including them actually came from the software…
  • @Mykenna Cepekthis is an issue I have as a beginning scrum master. I'm working to implement Agile practices in an environment that has traditionally been a waterfall type of company. I'm having to do this with non-software team members as well as software developers. On top of that, we are having to do work outside of our…
  • Yes. but you will have to move to a classic project or start using automation rules to do that. I'm starting to think you might be using the free version since you mention that you are working with a small team and I don't think the free version has that as part of its features.
  • @Walter Buggenhout, thanks. Of course. I'll live with it for now. I really don't need to revert to the old issue view for this minor bug. I just like to see the fields I'm monkeying around with when I set post functions and automation rules I never seem to find these service requests when I am searching for answers. It…
  • I think there is a way to make this more usable and semi-automated. It might also be a good idea to limit who can set this "resolution" to the project lead/admin. I'll keep playing with it to see what is possible. Are you just looking for certain resolutions? If so, I suppose you could make that field selectable and mimic…
  • OK, I used more than one data source. In my case, I added projects instead of boards or filters. Our company currently uses projects like departments. Just to test my theory I added the 5 projects to a plan. Note that the order of adding doesn't help and that Stratocraft Manufacturing without the leading period would have…
  • So this might be a workaround for you. I thought about this and it would require you to have project admin access. If you create a custom dropdown field you could use it as your resolution field. You can use the next-gen workflow to set the field to whatever resolution you would like it to be. I would also recommend you…
