@Oliver Wright , @Staffan Redelius makes the best point here of designing the system first. I'm sure his comment about the nightmare of cleaning up someone else's "Wild West" permissions as well as other types of creep (Status, links, resolutions) rings true for many admins. Try to find some of the admin training available…

@Brian keep taking all the training you can. Also, at the top of this page are the Forums, Q&A, Discussion groups, and Articles. And always post your questions and problems you are having trouble with. There are plenty of people out there who have gone through what you have and are willing to help out. Good luck on your…

@Ben Dangelmayr _Dangel Studio_ , our sympathies regarding inheriting someone elses system/projects. 😣 Glad that helped. As to my comment on using automation, I think you could run a filter for a given project to surface empty fields that need updating with valid information and have it send out an email or Teams/Slack…
-
@Ben Dangelmayr _Dangel Studio_ if you make a field required, the user has to enter a value on create, A due date is valid data whether or not it is realistic and accurate. If you have a free-text field, good luck, as your assumption about bad data corrupting reports is valid. I can't even figure out why(or how) you would…

@Sven-Nils_Kossow I have the add-on @Fazila Ashraf mentioned and it works great as long as your IT team knows what to do. In my case they keep booting me out of it even though we are still paying for the subscription. That said, if you don't need the duplex editing/view feature of that tool, my latest workaround is to put…

@r ghisa I always remove access but don't delete. If you do, you'll need to know their user id to do any searches for old information tied to them. It also makes taking ownership of spaces, private filters etc. harder to do. I'd suggest you export the users to get the name and ID before removing them altogether if you are…

@Rob Sher I mentioned this in another post regarding this change, but here is the latest answer to your question about new releases/changes to the Cloud UI. It used to be a newsletter you could subscribe to called Cloud Release Notes: I even think it was originally titled Tl: Dr. Mind you this admin stuff isn't my full…

@Kanad Dagaonkar Good on ya! This is the first time I've seen the Atlassian Team respond like this when things didn't go as planned. It is definitely appreciated from my side of the fence. This type of dialog is what should happen, especially when a new feature is planned for release. I think the fact that it was released…
-
@Kanad Dagaonkar I don't always have time to read the new release notices and was completely unaware that this was happening. I found out from my users that this "feature" 🙄 was turned on automatically. When users are used to a tool with a certain look and feel, making such changes isn't cool. Atlassian really just needs…

@Arkadiusz Wroblewski it has been so long since I had to even look at the System settings. Thanks for the tip. Now it's back to what we have used forever. Including the Summary field. 😜
-
You said it @__ Jimi Wikman . Probably letting ROVO decide what we want. 😜
-
Thanks for the quick replies. I did figure out that the cropped Create screen is now the default if you don't specify a separate Create View screen. It still doesn't explain why the Summary field has become Title. The issue configure screen is still Summary. 🙄

Nice bit of Flair there @Kristján Geir Mathiesen

@Evan Fishman - Quely for Jira and you are talking about this from the perspective of a software company. Imagine trying to convert traditional engineering teams to think and do Agile of some sort. I am a certified scrumaster and the admin here, and have not been able to get people to understand how to work in this style…
-
@Evan Fishman - Quely for Jira I agree 100% with the survey. I am a scrummaster but I don't like the idea of a daily standup either. It should be obvious regarding what people are working on and what they will be working on. I think there is a missed opportunity, though, to share what is going well and who is having an…

I would be interested in providing feedback mainly regarding releasing a tested project back into the working environment.
-
@Gor Greyan please upload an example of what you are trying to do. Is this an automation rule you are working on? What or where does the Summary you are trying to update located?
-
@samantha.bernis I'm going to presume she has created a second user account in your system. Do you have site or org admin privileges?
-
@Kris Klima _K15t_ I would love to have access to add-ons like yours and given your disclaimer and acceptance of that need for some people, your company will be one I will follow up on if I am ever given the budget to do so. I'm not a professional programmer, but I've had to do a whole bunch of DIY workarounds. I like to…
-
@Tyler Ford if you are limited in purchasing add-ons you can try creating your own. Here is a walk through. Restrict who can Approve Pages in Confluence CliffsNotes Edition 469

@Katie McDaniel In my experience with a filter-only plan the summary is next to and inside of the area with the issue key. If you could include a screenshot of what you are seeing, along with the filter view, that might provide some more clues.

@Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_ I just realized that the Automation symbol looks like the Jira Service Management Logo. Any insights on what Atlassian calls that? 🤔
-
@Varsha Joshi GMTA. 🤣 I'm waiting for some more responses for now. I should ping Jimmy Seddon to put it in one of his email blasts to get a bigger survey sample.
-
@Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_ it used to be called the Actions button. I know what it does but I am working with people who need very specific information sometimes. I was hoping someone (Atlassian) could tell me what the symbol is called. We have the horizontal ellipses (formerly the hamburger symbol) but I don't know what…

@William Wilson this problem has a term. Enshittification
-
@John Funk Good to see your response to my original query helped someone else. Just to clarify, are you saying that choosing the Resolved Date in the Roadmap (I'm presuming this is in the Plans tool) will behave like the End Date? I was thinking that would require an automation to set the End Date to the Resolution Date.
-
@Arka Ray I noticed you hadn't reached out to Atlassian yet so I've pushed a support request to them. Good luck.
-
@Arka Ray until you get a response here from someone more familiar with this, I suggest you notify your IT people ASAP.
-
@Oleksandr , Good find. I haven't had to deal with attachments lately so once I found out how to add one with the methofd I descibed I was good to go.
-
@Oleksandr I'm not sure why, but it seems I ask that question often here in the Atlassianverse. I think you could create an attachments page in your space to contain them but I haven't looked at that yet.
