Yes, I think you confirmed what I suspected. I created the variable to debug using one of the versions of "Find the first of the week" that you suggested. The created variable was returning the data correctly so I thought I could call it in the iterator. Thanks again for your help.

Woot! Thank you both @Darryl Lee and @Bill Sheboy for putting up with me and having the persistence to follow it through. See the result below. I will still need to test this for other users but I expect it should work. As of right now, the last set of corrections Darryl provided made it work. I think I created my own set…

@Darryl Lee Oh my just when I thought this was on the verge of being solved I still have issues. Your version of the email code has fixed the errors I was still getting after adding the third closure (I still don't understand why) but I'll take it. I've also noticed that I am not getting a value for this one…
-
@Darryl Lee keep jumping in if you think of something. Unfortunately, that doesn't fix it. Part of your solution has already been covered by one of @Bill Sheboy 's earlier responses. I tried it by adding the {{#worklog}} nested smart value and replaced your startOfWeek() call with the {{now.withDayOfWeek(1)}} smart value…
-
@Bill Sheboy I added the {{now.withDayOfWeek(1)}} smart value in a Log action which gets me the correct date. I then tried using that in my Send email step with a conditional logic statement nested inside of the {{#lookupIssues}} statement as you suggested above. The audit log indicates I am close to making it work but I…

@Laurie Sciutti I did find something new in your additional links that might provide some more insight. Thank you for your continued help. I've started searching for information outside of the Atlassian community as well. If I find the motherlode somewhere out there on the interwebs I will definitely post about it here.…
-
@Marcus Jones I'm not laughing. I was starting to consider using the internal Atlassian Beta AI tool. Thanks for pushing me in that direction. I'm also of a mindset that I need to spend time digging into JSON which is what I think is being used for what I am trying to do. I will reply here with my findings after playing…
-
@Laurie Sciutti thank you for replying so quickly. I had great hope for the Medium article but alas it isn't any more helpful than the Atlassian support link. As I stated in my question, Atlassian's documentation lacks the detail it needs to be useful. I have been through everything that is linked out of the page you…

@Bill Sheboy I was pretty sure I could sort out the rest of this w/o another request for help but I am still struggling with the email. I tried to implement your suggestion of nesting the "{{#worklog}} some fields {{/}} inside of the lookup iterator." to no avail as the email came back empty. After reading the other posts…
-
@Bill Sheboy thank you again for all your help. Your suggestion of dropping the "issue." from the smart values seemed to be the key to getting me where I am now. Can't thank you enough. I have deleted the Lookup Table. I thought I needed it when I started trying to write this rule. I now get an email that iterates through…
-
@Bill Sheboy we are getting closer. My latest changes include your change to use {{initiator.accountId}} in the initial search. The search captures the 2 correct issues for this week in the Lookup Issues step as shown on the right of the screenshot but the Lookup Table is picking up the entire worklog for the trigger issue…
-
@Bill Sheboy yes, I understand what the log action for {{worklog.timeSpent}} and {{worklog.started}} are reporting and it is correct for my original search query. I'm getting the correct data that I want to send in the email. I only wrote back regarding your search query because as you stated it doesn't work in a JQL…

Thank you @Eddie Meardon for the great clarification. I do expect to be creating a plan with more issues than I have in the past so I'll be paying attention and implementing the recommendations in the linked article. My intention is to make the plan utilizing Initiatives in a Scrum of Scrums board but will now consider…
-
@Bill Sheboy The error message about returning no issues is weird because it does. Note the Log Action at the bottom of the first image. It returns the table values for the five issues that are collected by the Lookup Issues action. I did get it to print details on the issue I used to trigger the manual trigger if I…
-
@Lesley Monro I'll be watching this closely. I don't remember seeing that limit in the documentation and I've not tried to have anywhere near that number of issue sources. I would definitely create a sandbox and give it a go there first. If it is an issue (choosing sources in the tool) you might try creating a scrum of…
-
@Bill Sheboy that is the weird thing about this. The Lookup Issues action does find the correct number of issues (5). I validated it in the automation setup. My original intent was to get the number of issues a user logged time in for a given period, in this case, startOf Week(). I didn't include the rest of my automation…
-
OK, I just don't get it. I'm trying to do this very thing without having to parse assignees. It's a simple Lookup search and send email using the exact text of @Darryl Lee example and my email comes back blank. I've been able to send emails before w/o any issues but now it doesn't work. This is the second automation this…
-
@Bill Sheboy I am having an issue with formatting as well. I'm trying to format a field as a currency. I found the jira-smart-values-math-expressions page and created an automation to format my custom field as currency on issue creation. The automation claims success upon running and it seems to format the number but…

I hope I get access soon. My instance hasn't been updated yet.

@Phil Bustin you can try the Cloud-to-Cloud migration instructions found here: Cloud-to-Cloud-migration if you are limited on add-iins although I can recommend Deep Clone by Codefortynine. Really useful add-in.
-
@Michael Horsley you can do this within your instance by reading up on this first: Cloud-to-cloud migration I also recommend you look at Deep Clone as suggested by @Luka Hummel - codefortynine This is a very useful tool for the cost. One of the first and only add-ins I've picked up over time. It doesn't require any coding…

@Evgenii I understand now. I totally missed the .suffix part of the documentation the first time around. Learn something every time. Thank you again for sharing. 🙏
-
@Evgenii Nope, that seems to be a problem with this particular permission. It doesn't work the same as specifying multiple users. I was hoping I could just list them all in the one property but I guess it isn't possible either. See below:
-
@Evgenii thanks for checking back here. I'm hoping you can shed some more light on my issue. I was able to restrict editing to one role but a use case came up that I thought could be solved by having the property contain two project roles but it doesn't allow you to create two property entries for the same Status. I tried…
-
@Evgenii do you know how to set the property to use to specific roles in the Status property? Is it even possible? I know I can't add the property twice when I'm in the editor.
-
@Max Foerster - K15t using this property doesn't keep a user from commenting on an issue. Only editing the issue fields. @Gajanan Sasane I suspect there is an issue with the comment property that is causing that. See this article: Use Workflow Properties
-
@[deleted] I agree with @Clark Everson on the two options for you to try. I have used both methods with success. Either way will work to keep things under one roof. The biggest issue I see for you to make this work is training the users and setting up permissions, etc. to manage what people see when they use the tool. Use…
-
@Evgenii thanks for getting me aligned on the project role ID. I've updated the Status Property by using this: Do you know if this works with a transition as well? Will that lock out editing for the rest of the workflow as opposed to setting it for every transition? It appears to be the case. Thank you again for your help.
